Today's Visitors at the Bird Feeder

I am a new birdwatcher. We recently put out a couple of bird feeders because the bluebirds have come back. All of a sudden we were attracting all kinds of birds. Blue birds, Nuthatch, Chickadees, Cardinals, Bluejays, Northern Downey Woodpeckers, Grosbeaks, Warblers and squirrels. Yes, after a while the squirrels came along and began to chow down on the black oil sunflower seeds and mealworms. Two full bird feeders gone in a day. While shopping for some cone shaped baffles to put on the shepherds hook  the  store clerk told us that Red Hot Sauce deterred the squirrels and so we sprinkled some on top of the fence where they like to perch in order to get to the bird feeder. So far,so good. No squirrels today.  I'm also told that you can sprinkle the hot sauce on the bird feed. It doesn't bother the birds but it doesn't settle with the squirrels very well. Here are a few photos of today's visitors.
