Maxwell Creek Inn is nestled on six acres surrounded by a woodland wildlife preserve and apple orchards on the south shore of Lake Ontario, halfway between Rochester and Syracuse. Peaceful and relaxing, this tranquil setting offers a piece of heaven on earth.

Built in 1846 by William Swales for his daughter Elizabeth as a wedding gift, the historic Cobblestone House was once on the Underground Railroad. Schooners sailed into Maxwell Bay to trade wheat for the flour that was made at the gristmill that still stands on the property since 1794. The Private Cobblestone Carriage House was built in 1840 and is available for rent.

Apple orchards, walking trails to the lake, outdoor grills and picnic tables are on the premises. The property boasts a quarter-mile of prime private shoreline fishing on the famous Maxwell Creek, also perfect for canoeing and kayaking.

Accommodations - Our Cobblestone Carriage House has two efficiency suites with private baths and kitchenettes. A full breakfast is served by candlelight in a rustic wood-paneled dining room by a unique fireplace in the main house.

Maxwell Creek Inn is located at 7563 Lake Road, Sodus, New York in the northern end of the Finger Lakes Region on the shores of Lake Ontario just 2 miles west of Sodus Point on the Seaway Trail. Amusement parks, golfing, hiking trails, antiques, fishing, parks, shopping, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, water sports, and more are located within an easy distance.

Cash, personal checks, or travelers checks are accepted for payment.
